After six years studying business and science at Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand, I have decided to postpone my shift into the “real world” for another four years while I complete a PhD in genetics here in Edinburgh (aka. the Dunedin of the north). Specifically, I’m interested in the genetics of brain development and how deregulation of these pathways can lead to brain tumours. When not wielding pipettes in my spiffy white coat, I have been known to dabble in radio DJing, sketch comedy, and non-contact sports.
